Pork chop recipes are not always the easiest to find. Everyone loves boneless chicken recipes, but pork chops can be magical, if made right! Today, I'm showing you how to make a slow cooker apple honey chipotle barbecue pork chop recipe!
What is chipotle and where do you find chipotle?
"Chipotle -a smoked hot chili pepper used especially in Mexican cooking."
I've had this can of chipotle peppers from Aldi in my pantry for quite some time. Truth is... I'm afraid of the heat.
I typically share Cuban and Puerto Rican recipes on my site, but I can truly appreciate Mexican cuisine. There's a place in Allentown, PA that I frequently go to when I visit, they have the best stuffed burritos, but I have to pass on anything spicy!
I decided to make this slow cooker apple honey chipotle barbecue pork chop recipe since I felt brave. I originally planned on just making a honey chipotle barbeque pork chop recipe... pero fue muy caliente! I added applesauce to tame it just a little bit more.
How To Make Slow Cooker Apple Honey Chipotle BBQ Pork Chops
Start by getting your blender, either a shake one or a standard one. You're going to add in your barbecue sauce, 2 chipotle peppers with a tablespoon of the adobo sauce (from the can), and honey. Blend it up until it's smooth, and taste it. If it's too spicy, go ahead and add applesauce to it (I did a cup).
Once the sauce is made, set it to the side. Next, season your boneless (or bone in) pork chops with adobo seasoning. Add it to your slow cooker.
Finally, add in your sauce, mix it all around. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, or low for 4 hours!
