This authentic Puerto Rican coquito is rich, creamy, and full of warm holiday flavors. My family's version includes a homemade spiced tea that adds suble notes of cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and other cozy spices for an extra-special Christmas drink everyone will love.

Instructions
Blend the coquito.
In a large blender, combine all the ingredients except for the rum. If your blender is small, work in batches. Alternatively, you can whisk the ingredients together in a large bowl.
Taste and adjust.
Before adding the rum, taste the mixture. If you'd like it sweeter, blend in a little more sweetened condesned milk. You can also adjust the spices to your liking.
Add the rum.
Blend in the white rum, and if using the spiced rum. Taste and adjust until it's just right for your family.
Chill.
Pour the coquito into clean glass bottles or an airtight pitcher. Refrigerate until well chilled before serving.
Shake and enjoy.
Because coconut naturally separates as it chills, give the bottle a good shake before pouring. Serve cold, with or without ice, and garnish with a cinnamon stick or a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon if desired.
Notes
If you're adding the spiced tea, prepare it beforehand.
Coquito tastes even better after chilling overnight.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 weeks.
Freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and shake well before serving.
For a dairy-free version, substitute your favorite dairy-free evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk.
