  • 6 cups of water
  • 4 cups of oatmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup of sugar or to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons of guava jelly plus more for garnishing

  1. In a large pot over medium high heat, bring water and oatmeal to a simmer, add in a pinch of salt and mix. Once water is simmering, mix occasionally and allow oatmeal to cook until it begins to thicken, about 4-5 minutes.
  2. Next, add in sugar and milk, lower heat to medium low and allow oatmeal to thicken a little bit more, about an extra minute before folding in remaining ingredients. Stir until cream cheese and guava have been incorporated.
  3. Serve and garnish with cinnamon and guava, if desired.
